CROC at Queensland Police’s Cyber Safety Workshops

What do the members of the Lions Club, Rotary, Country Women’s Association and Seniors Net all have in common? The answer is, they’re all concerned with cybercrime and online safety.

Queensland Police has been hosting a series of cyber safety workshops across the Ipswich district and IDCARE was invited to talk to the executive members of these community groups at their first event. One of our CROC (Cyber Resilience Outreach Clinics) crew, Jason, spoke to the community groups about how IDCARE supports people impacted by identity theft and cybercrime and explained the simple measures anyone could take to safely navigate the online world.

He said he had a fantastic time and that the cyber truck (named Potjie) was a big hit. Margaret, from the Ipswich Seniors Net, (pictured below) was very keen to take it home!

Although Ipswich is only a hop, skip and a jump from IDCARE’s Headquarters on the Sunshine Coast, it is still in our top 50 most vulnerable postcodes nationwide!

IDCARE will be involved in the next Queensland Police workshops throughout April and May 2022 at Boonah, Springfield and Esk. Let us know if you spot one of our trucks on the road!
