About the role:

As a Technical Advisor, you'll play a pivotal role in providing critical support and solutions to our clients, helping them navigate and mitigate cyber risks.
This is a fantastic opportunity for students to dive into the world of cyber security while studying.
We are currently seeking Technical Advisors to join the team based at the University of Queensland campus in St Lucia. These on-site roles provide flexible hours to accommodate your academic schedule.

As a Technical Advisor, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Engage professionally and empathetically with clients, addressing their needs through various communication channels.
  • Develop and maintain technical proficiency in cyber security across diverse technologies and operating systems.
  • Provide hands-on assistance to improve clients' technical resilience across various devices and operating systems.
  • Evaluating cyber resilience maturity and risks and referring complex cases to specialists if needed.

About you:

Ideal candidates would be studying Law, Engineering, Technology, Commerce or a Cyber Security degree. You will also have:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including engaging people calmly and professionally who are under severe stress.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to develop and maintain an excellent understanding of application security configurations and features across diverse email and browser applications as well as social media accounts.
  • Empathetic, conflict management and resolution skills.

Successful candidate's will be required to undergo a Working with Children Check and National Police Check. Any offer of employment is subject to satisfactory findings of these checks.
